Karna Prayag was started in 1980 as a part of SOS Children's Village—Chatnath Homes, a home for destitute children, as a place to receive and care for infants who had been abandoned or surrendered. Soon we had childless couples knocking at our door. "Would you give us a baby to bring up as our own?” It was then that Karna Prayag started to process adoptions in a facility capable of housing five infants.
